Where did the name Body come from?

Body is the name given to me by fellow Marines when I played football for the Camp Foster Bulldogs in Okinawa, Japan. When the coaching staff and other players didn’t know my name they started calling me Body based on the physique I had built through years of BODYbuilding.

Just like I earned my eagle, globe, and anchor to be called a United States Marine… I earned my name!

I am BODY!

Bigger than any one individual is the idea that a belief can be so strong that nothing can prevent it from manifesting…

That’s UTLD!

Life is a hell of a thing to happen to a person...

Most of us live our lives according to a doctrine that we inherit at birth. Our paths are chosen and futures are planned from the moment of conception. For some, fate is sealed with ignorance and complacency. For others, the beaten path is paved with rose pedals, financial security and without controversy. However, for the majority, life is full of ups and downs. Hard times, betrayals, sleepless nights, unwanted bills and the silent killer (stress) sometimes results in some long days and a lot of self-medication. During my early childhood-years I received the proper guidance with a love that did nothing but nurture an innocence few are fortunate to still have by the time they reach the age of 4. My brothers and I don’t come from a broken home - our father, who is from Ghana, West Africa and mother who is from Milwaukee, WI, have been married for 30+ years and are the epitome of commitment, love, and respect. They are hard-working and have always led by example. They taught my brothers and I more valuable life lessons than any institution could have ever prepared us for.

Growing up in a Ghanian/American household we were taught many things but the 4 things that stand out the most are 4 principles that have been passed down through the generations.

Those 4 Principles are:

  1. Know who you are.

  2. Know what you are about.

  3. Know what your purpose is.

  4. Know why you do what you do.

With those 4 Principles in mind I can, have, and will accomplish many things.

  1. I am a father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend. I am a confidant. I am fighter and a lover. I am a Black Star 🇬🇭! I am United States 🇺🇸 Marine Corps Veteran, OORAH! I am a bodybuilder. I am a motivator.

  2. I am all about growth and evolution. I believe in manifestation and the energy necessary to manifest what I desire.

  3. My purpose is to help the less fortunate and inspire the hopeless. God chose me for my path. He walked with me through hell and he guided me on my journey back. Through introspection I own indiscretions and past mistakes. I met with karma and walked through my own darkness. Now I serve as a beacon for those searching for light.

  4. I do what I do because I am meant to. With everything I have set out to do in this life I have learned that my path is my path, paved or unpaved it is mine and mine alone. I have traveled it to this point and I will continue to travel it until the last drop of M*****/P********* blood runs from my veins.

I am great!
My story is legendary!

My music draws inspiration for life. The good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly. Listening to one of my songs is like looking at the world as interpreted by my mind. The messages within might not always be as clear as a looking glass, but they are there no doubt. My poetry journeys through my mind and deeper into my soul as I unveil some of the inner turmoil that keeps me up at night. I like to say that if you really want to get to know me - listen to my music. Cliche maybe, none the less it is the truth; my truth!

Do not get caught up in the optics projected by social perception; you will never find another like me!
